...Isaac: 2 months...

...
Little man. You are two months already.
You have finally made the corner with your colic. You have started to coo anytime you hear my voice. You always sing the sweetest songs after nursing. Your days start at seven. We shoot for a 3 hour morning nap, two hours of awake time, and a three hour afternoon nap. You sometimes have to powernap right at dinner to make it until bedtime. You eat at 130 and 5 most morning.

Your siblings adore you.
Nicknames: Tootsie Roll (Gabe); Itack (Gianna)
Height: 22 7/8"
Weight: 12.4lbs
You have the cutest dimples on your knuckles, wrists and ankles. Oiy.

 my first smile on camera.

Christmas Lights.
Christmas is Steve's favorite season. Favorite. I love seeing how much joy Advent and Christmas bring him and he is transferring it on to our kids. It was a blustery day, but probably the warmest left of the year so we decided to tackle the outdoor lighting.

They came in after awhile to warm up and then Gabe exclaimed, "Dad, can we go hang up more lights? I just love hanging up lights."

...thankful turkeys...

...
A cold drizzly day kept us inside for a few extra hours. We decided to make some thankful turkeys! They were ecstatic for lots of glue and googly eyes. Keep in mind, arts and crafts are NOT my forte, but the kids had fun:

gabe...4...a slight bug hit our house this week, so we spent many hours doing puzzles, trains, painting, and being cooped indoors. we went to see the horses this week and he was able to collect his first egg from her coop. he can hardly wait until we have chickens!

gianna...2...We have awakened to "jingle bells" a few days this week as she sweetly (and loudly!!) chirps this from her bed. It was adorable allll but the morning that it started at 5:51AM ;). We painted her fingernails for the first time...in hopes that she stops sucking her thumb. It didn't help, but she is proud of them.

isaac...7 weeks...his belly issues are starting to disappear!!! he is starting to coo when ever we are interacting. he loves his baths. he smiled for the first time (for something other than gas.). Fortunately my cell phone was with me ;).

...a chair update...

...
Before our neighbor moved, she gifted us a set of chairs in various states of disarray. They needed new seats, cushions, and reupholstered. It was a set of six. She paid to have two refinished and reupholstered. Unfortunately, at some point, the refinished seat boards were broken.

As luck would have it, I really loved the look of the other four. At some point in their life, someone had painted them teal, then black and then adhered some sort of faux wood grain contact paper. About 90% of the paint had been removed, leaving a gorgeous rustic look.

Initially, I tossed around the idea of wood seat blanks as I knew fabric would be used and abused in my hopeful home for them, the toy room. However, EXPENSIVE!! So, I decided to go with a fabric route.

I searched on line for hours as I really didn't want a Joann Fabrics trip looking at bolts with three kids in tow. I finally settled on one and headed to the store, hoping for a quick trip. I really didn't like it in person, so after a few minutes of browsing, settled on this one.

Fortunately, I had a coupon for 50% off and only needed 1.5 yards. I purchased a few of these (also half off) and wrapped them with some left over interfacing from another project.

DONE.

The kids use them non stop and I am thankful to have a chair to sit on as well.

...Isaac's Baptism...

...
November 6th, 2016
Welcome to the Church, little man.

We went to our normal Mass (8AM) with Uncle Jacob and Aunt Sammi, your Godparents. We then came home for a brunch. Your grandparents, Busia, great-grandparents, and Uncle Brian/Aunt Kristi drove down for your Baptism.

After feasting and chitchatting, we headed back to the Parish for your Baptism at Noon. You were the only Baptism that Sunday, which made it a beautiful private ceremony performed by Fr. David.

That Chrism smell. There is truly nothing better.

...a sweet little garland...

...
I found a little paper garland on etsy that matched the colors in Gianna's room perfectly. I wanted to add a bit of whimsy to her room above her bed as many of the pieces are a bit more mature as I really wanted something timeless. The price however, not so much. I made a trip to Joann's and grabbed some card stock: coral, navy, light blue, gold, and cream.

I used a 2" and 2.5" punch and some corresponding coral thread.

I love how it turned out!!! A consecutive nap time helped me actually finish a project in one sitting, which felt amazing ;)/
Her room is almost complete.

...
Isaac...As quickly as the colic seemed to appear, it thankfully disappeared. We had a few rough weeks with little man. He is vying for best sleeper award. He is quite adorable with his elbow dimples. This makes his cheeks look a bit more rotund, but they are positively perfect in every way. He loves staring and laying on the floor with Gabe. His newest nick name via Gabe is "tootsie roll." We typically refer to him as "red fish," but I love the tootsie roll.

Only fitting to have one photo. These two have been inseparable and playing legos constantly.

Gianna...She loves to sit and brush her hair. She is so helpful with Isaac. Her favorite thing is to cook with me right now. She scurries into the laundry room and grabs her little stool to help in the kitchen.

Gabe...He has become quite the lego fan. He could spend hours designing machines. His imagination is fantastic.

...weekly loves...

...
This song. This song has been on repeat for weeks now.

This is currently crackling in my oven. I love trying new squash recipes.

I have tried for years to love Aline skirts. I just don't. They never hit me in the right place due to my height. So, I ventured into the realm of pencil skirts. This is an absolute favorite. They had a few on sale for less than $20 and I tried a few in various colors. I am in love with a navy lace pencil skirt that they no longer have listed.

These pillow covers might have to be in the budget in the next few months. I have pillows in our living room that need a make over. I am not sure if I can make them that affordable with my time. I follow her Instagram account and it is just refreshing.

Little man is finally getting Baptized this weekend!!!! We are having a simple brunch and I think this will be the centerpiece. Everything she makes is sooooo good.

I think I finally settled on this fabric for refinishing the toy room chair seat covers. I spent far too many minutes looking at fabric. I hope I like it in person!!!

...pumpkin carving...

...
We had intended to carve pumpkins this past Friday as I was a bit off on my days of the month. My sister mentioned that afternoon that it wasn't Halloween. Oops. So we saved it for Sunday afternoon when it was predicted to rain and we had a bit more time.
Gabe was very set on having a "Rosie" on his pumpkin and dad delivered. He was very interested in helping and sorting seeds. I was so surprised!! Gianna was too busy to help out, but did stop in for about 32 seconds to check on the progress.

The boys took the pumpkin to the shop and used a drill and the results were spectacular!!
It is actually Thomas....but close enough ;).
We are now enjoying the fabulously roasted seeds.
